NHM Special Issue Advanced Mathematical Methodologies to Manage Pandemics

Since years, I take part to the IBM Power System Academic Initiative. Here and here is an interview to the IBM Systems Magazine, July 2020.

Research

I like to tackle analytical problems related to Hyperbolic Conservation Laws grounded in realistic motivations. By analytical problems I mean: basic well posedness or stability issues, optimal control problems and games, typically non cooperative.

In particular, I'm involved in formulating and studying models inspired by biology (epidemics, vaccination strategies) or concerning crowd dynamics (classroom evacuation; lanes formation); traffic flow; individuals-population interactions (the Pied Piper, dogs and sheeps, also without p.d.e.s); supply chains; blood flow; gas dynamics (a piston hit by a shock wave); mixed hyperbolic-parabolic models for predators-prey interactions (hunting); phase transitions and combustion; management of renewable resources; granular matter.

More recently, I've been concerned with the modeling of the Covid-19 spreading. If interested, visit this page.

Here is a list of my publications. For further information, find me on MathSciNet, Zentralblatt, ORCID, Scopus, WoS, Google scholar, TIS.
